Before The Breaks Coffee Roasting Company, Wes Eisenhauer Photography and Dan Eisenhauer Photography, There was Soulcrate Music. Cool dudes. And close friends. Independent hip hop savvy with a midwest work ethic. What’s better than that?
Anyhow, I ran across these photos today and thought it would be a great Throwback Thursday post.
This first photo is probably the prettiest they have ever looked.
Wedding Photography Sioux Falls, South Dakota
Chris and Andrea, the two of you blew our minds. We love when smart, urban couples come back to Sioux Falls for their wedding. We love it even more when they love it so much here, they move back for good! We are so glad that the two of you had us be part of your day. And even more stoked that you call Sioux Falls home now! Check out this modern wedding.
Chris and Andrea had their wedding at The Old Courthouse Museum in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. I love this venue for so many reasons. The biggest of which is that Holly and I were married here in September of 2001. It has so much character, so many places to find great photographs! Andrea got ready in a room on the second floor. It allowed us a chance to let her bath in some window light and create some photographs that really accentuated her beauty and the lines of her dress. After that we proceeded to the north end of the building for their first look. It was such a beautiful day and the shade of the building allowed for just fantastic light. We jumped in the car and buzzed out of town for some rural portraits and then back in to town to find some fun, unconventional spots for some portraits of the two of them.
After the ceremony we headed over to Ode for the reception in this banquet facility. I am not sure if you have been up their but the view from the balcony is grand. We hung out, ate great food and had a blast with their friends and family from all over the country. It was truly an honor to be a part of their day.
Wedding Photography Sioux Falls, South Dakota
Katie and Brent’s South Dakota fall wedding was a fantastic day. We had free reign of the acreage and found some amazing one of a kind spots to capture them. We were a bit afraid of the weather, but the rain mostly stayed away and provided us with beautiful light for the entire the day. Photographing weddings in the midwest pretty much rules.
We are pretty much the luckiest people on earth. We are so stoked to have Steve M.F. Bormes from Rug and Relic, as a friend and neighbor to us at the studio. Always hip with a bunch groovy Steveisms, he creates the most unusual sculptures and lights. We are mesmerized by his work daily. So prolific and inspiring. Steve’s shop is located in Sioux Falls, South Dakota at 8th and Railroad Center. Check out some of his work that we have photographed!
A few weeks ago I had the great opportunity to get stretch my event photography legs a bit. Dancing with the Sioux Falls Stars is a fundraiser put on by NAMI Sioux Falls (National Alliance on Mental Illness). NAMI is an amazing organization that is doing great things for our community at a grassroots level. They provide services to families that are dealing with mental health issues. Often times the services they provide are at no cost to these families, and they are a certified non profit company. As somebody who has worked with people with mental disabilities (as a direct support professional in a school setting) this is a cause that is near and dear to my heart. NAMI are working to end the stigma that has been attached to people who seek help for these issues and harbor a safe space for conversation and healing.
Dancing with the Sioux Falls Stars was an awesome event that paired a local Sioux Falls-leader-in-their-field with a dance instructor. The end result was an event that was spectacular and full of energy. Most importantly, a lot of money was raised for a really great cause. Here are just a few of the photos from that wonderful night. If you know someone suffering from any sort of mental illness, don’t let them live in silence. Contact NAMI to figure out ways that you can help. Also NAMI is always looking for people in the community to be allies to the cause. Contact them to see how you can volunteer. – Tory
File Under: Event Photography
We were asked to do some fine art portraits of some of the residents at Touchmark at All Saints in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. All of these people were artists, or aspiring artists. Getting to know them a bit and understanding their journey was an amazing gift. We are so happy to have been asked by Zach Deboer of Exposure Gallery to be involved.
Take a moment and look at the life in the eyes of these folks.
A while back my friend Emily Paulson from Prairie Berry in Sioux Falls stopped by for some professional portraits. While we were at it, we made this little series of fun portraits too. It is so fun to just play around photographing in the studio.
So many of our clients return to Sioux Falls for their weddings. We love being able to get to know so many interesting people and to photograph their day. Baron and Jennifer traveled back from out west to have a beautiful family wedding. We’ve put together a collection of photographs that tell that story. Check it out and let us know what you think!
I’ve had the pleasure of knowing Maggie and Jordan for a while now. We met through the art department at USD. It was such an honor to get the opportunity to photograph their wedding day. To say that it was beautiful would be an understatement. The ceremony was held outdoors at the Arboretum, and it was right at that time of year before the leaves change, but as they’re slowly beginning to yellow. This was my last wedding of the season, and Jordan and Maggie really made it a great wrap up to the year. It’s been awesome getting to know these two over the years, and I can’t wait to watch them continue to grow as a couple. Here are a few of photos of their gorgeous day. – Tory
Ten to Fifteen times a year we get to hang out and photograph with the crew at Fresh Produce. It is always a blast to be a part of the marketing projects they have us on. Creative vision for one of a kind clients. Here are a few shots from our shoot for Dur-A-Lift over in Iowa. One of our goals from these shoots is to give the client a small personalized stock catalog of images to use for future projects.
